Product overview

Trident-SR is G&W Electric’s solid-dielectric distribution switchgear platform using vacuum fault interruption. It is offered in 15 kV, 25 kV and 35 kV voltage classes and can include the SafeVu visible-break option.

Verified configuration

The official ratings chart states 630 A continuous and load-break current and fault interruption up to 12.5 kA. The corresponding maximum system voltages are 15.5 kV, 27 kV and 38 kV. LearnSwitchgear records 35 kV as the voltage class; 38 kV is not presented as the class rating.

Engineering significance

The combination of solid insulation, submersible construction, vacuum interruption and visible isolation options supports underground utility and critical-power automation without an SF6 gas system.

Specification caution

Confirm way configuration, load-break versus fault-interrupting functions, SafeVu arrangement, current class, automation package and enclosure duty. Family maximums cannot be applied to every combination.
