Product overview

Vista Green is S&C Electric’s SF6-free underground distribution switchgear platform. The current product page describes a hermetically sealed CO2 mix and publishes ratings for utility applications through 38 kV.

Verified configuration

The official ANSI/IEC ratings table publishes 600 A (ANSI) and 630 A (IEC) for the main bus and load-interrupter function, with configuration-dependent ratings through 25 kA. The 38 kV figure is the highest listed maximum system voltage; its corresponding IEC system class is shown as 36 kV.

Insulating-gas source note

S&C’s 2021 launch announcement identified a mixture of CO2 and 3M Novec 4710 and claimed more than 97% lower CO2e than its SF6 design. The current product page no longer names the second component and instead says “CO2 mix.” LearnSwitchgear therefore does not present the 2021 formulation as confirmed current production composition.

Specification caution

Confirm the present fill formulation, regional regulatory status, gas handling, recovery and end-of-life obligations directly from the current project specification. Environmental reduction figures remain manufacturer claims.
